“My Bingo” A New Series That Highlights the Special Role Bingo Clubs Play in Their Communities
Bingo - more than just a game!
The Bingo Association has launched “My Bingo”, a new video series shining a light on the very real and often deeply personal role bingo clubs play in the lives of their customers and communities.
Featuring regular customers from Club 3000 Blackpool, sharing their own experiences, the series explores themes of friendship, belonging , wellbeing and companionship – and for some customers simply having somewhere they feel at home.
Through honest conversations and observational footage, the video series captures the people and relationships at the heart of bingo, demonstrating that for many customers, their local club is about far more than the game itself.
Our bingo clubs are places where people come together, friendships are formed and communities are strengthened. For some, a regular visit provides an important opportunity to socialise, meet friends and enjoy time with others, helping to tackle loneliness and isolation and providing a sense of connection and belonging.
The video series aims to give audiences a genuine insight into the important role bingo clubs continue to play as community spaces – places where people can connect, share experiences and feel part of something.
The series centres on short video bringing together customers’ experiences, supported by a collection of additional interview footage which we will publish over the next 4 weeks providing additional insights.
Nicole Garrett, CEO of the Bingo Association, said:
“We have been genuinely moved by these customers’ stories and by the way they bring to life what bingo really means to so many people. It is not simply a place to come and play bingo or have the chance to win – their local club means so much more than that.
What really comes through in these stories is the sense of community. These are places where friendships have been built, people look out for one another and customers know they belong. For many, their club is an important part of their social lives and somewhere they can come together, feel connected and enjoy time with people they care about.
“We wanted this series to let bingo customers tell that story in their own words, and to show audiences the very human side of bingo.”
Bingo is more than just about a game, it's about a great community
and a great experience!
