There were celebrations, cheers and plenty of excitement at Club 3000 Bingo in Leeds on the evening of Tuesday 8 September, when a regular local player scooped a life-changing £50,000 jackpot playing the National Bingo Game.

The lucky winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, was enjoying a night at the club with her grandmother, who she regularly plays bingo with, when she struck lucky.

Describing the moment as “overwhelming,” she said:

“I love coming to bingo – it’s such a great night out. I come with my Nanna, and we are sharing the money. She is going to gift most of hers to her grandchildren, and I am hoping to buy a car and some new things for my house.”

The atmosphere inside the club was electric as fellow players realised the jackpot had been won. “Everyone was congratulating me and the whole club erupted,” she said. “I absolutely love coming here – it’s like one big family.”
